Farmers’ Pension Scheme To Restart.!

The government has opted to reintroduce pension benefits for farmers.

Chairman of the Agricultural and Agrarian Insurance Board, Premasiri Jasinghaarachchi mentioned that life insurance will also be made available to farmers.

Meanwhile, the Agricultural and Agrarian Insurance Board reports that compensation for crop damages due to heavy rainfall at the end of last year has now been finalised.

The compensation sum allocated to 53,503 farming families is 952 million Rupees.

However, some farmers have not received compensation because of issues in verifying their identities and assessment reports.
